Hi, it’s Lucy here. I am going to talk to you about what happens when things just don’t go to plan on a night out.
You are out with your friends, everyone is allowed in but you are refused entry into the nightclub/bar.
Ask one of your friends to stay with you, don't wait around! Call a taxi/parent/friend to come and collect you. Don't be afraid to call a parent, they'd be happier knowing you're safe.
The taxi/ bus you have organised left without you. The other people on the bus haven't waited on you...
Call a parent/taxi/reliable friend to come collect you. While waiting do not talk to dodgy people or stay in a quiet area. If there is a taxi rank or a take away opened go there and wait for the taxi, it will be safer because there is other people around
You are outside a nightclub and you see a fight, people try to break the fight up...
Inform a bouncer of the fight and make sure you do not get involved and advise your friends to do the same.
You notice the guy/ girl who is supposed to be getting a lift home with is drinking. You have no other way home.
Talk to them about your concerns, if they have had more than the legal limit, call a taxi or arrange with someone else to take you home.
Your friend has been with a guy/girl all night and is invited back to his/her house for the night. You know he/she wouldn't say yes normally but has had a lot to drink...
Take him/her aside and talk to them about why they want to go back, are their intentions the same as the person who has invited them back? What about safe sex? Organise transport home to make the decision easier. It may depend on how well you know your friend but if you genuinely think that they would be mortified in the morning, tell them that and persuade them to come home with you.
You are in the bathroom and you come across a really drunk person passed out on the floor beside the door. Everyone else sees him/her but don't pay any attention whatsoever. He/she is unconscious...
Inform a member of staff about the state he/she is in and make sure that stay with the person until help is found or else try and find their friends and ask them to stay with them.
